The Wine:
Working closely with his father under the eponymous label, Pierre-Marie Chermette, join us as Jean Etienne branches out to produce his own terroir driven wines out of Southern-Beaujolais. Jean's family history dates back to the 17th century, he benefits from traditional know-how while leveraging modern winemaking techniques to make wines that outshine many of the supposedly nobler crus.

Fleurie is the queen of Beaujolais. This cuvée is a blend of two great granite terroirs, Poncié and Les Garants, hence the name Les Deux Granites. It is an elegant, intense wine, full of roundness and fruit. Lovely aromas of plums, raspberries, spices and rose petals. Medium to full bodied, supple and enveloping, it's deep and nicely concentrated, with lovely acid, powdery tannins and a penetrating finish.

From 50 year old vines on dark pink granite, hand harvested. Traditional vinification of Beaujolais with whole bunches, semi carbonic maceration with two pump overs per day. Maceration for 9 to 11 days in concrete tanks. 6 to 8 months in “foudre” and 5%  in new oak barrels.
