The Wine:
Working closely with his father under the eponymous label, Pierre-Marie Chermette, join us as Jean Etienne branches out to produce his own terroir driven wines out of Southern-Beaujolais. Jean's family history dates back to the 17th century, he benefits from traditional know-how while leveraging modern winemaking techniques to make wines that outshine most of the supposedly nobler crus

A warm, fruity Beaujolais from the unique terroir of plagiogranites (similar to the blue granite of Côte de Brouilly) in Saint-Vérand, called Les Clos. Starting with a medley of forest berries both red and black, fresh fruits carry over on the palate with smooth and persistent flavour, beautiful acidity, and a silky tannin finish.

From 70 year old vines on black granite. Hand harvested. Traditional Beaujolais vinification with whole bunches: half carbonic maceration with two pump overs per day, and maceration lasting between 5 to 6 days in concrete tanks. Elevage for 6 to 8 months in stainless steel tanks.
